Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Are Tenderness And Pain In The Knee Cap After A Fall A Cause For Concern?
I fell down on a cement floor with my right knee cap taking the blunt of the fall - Of course there was swelling and pain - I was hoping it was only bruised and would heal on its own - Its been almost three weeks the swelling has subsided but I still have tenderness and pain at the top of my knee cap - I was thinking since the swelling subsided I didn t have a serious injury - Could I be wrong?
This is not a matter of concern. As due to the fall over the cement floor there is a hard object hurt over the bone. Which will take some time to go. I will advise using hot water fermentation and do simple knee strengthening exercises.
This should help your problem to resolve.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
