Are The Home Test Strip Results Checked Hours Later True ?

I was 2 weeks late.. Just started my period last night. Saturday morning I took I test that started turning a faint negative so discouraged I threw it away without waiting 5 minutes. Today I was cleaning garbages & decided to look at the one I threw away Saturday morning. It says positive... Is it real? Or just because I left it for 2 days?

When it is an early pregnancy the results can be false positive

Clear two lines should be there within 5 minutes otherwise repeat it after 15 days
