About a year ago a cat scan showed 5 nodules in my thyroid. Needle biopsies at that time could not get enough cells to make a diagnosis, so I went back for another a few months ago, and it determined that the 5cm one tested was benign. I have been taking a 0.05 mg of Levothyroxine every morning for a couple of years for my thyroid and also for a heart rate in the 40s. Now is it 60, as it should be, but this year for the first time in 10 yrs, I gave up all sweets for Lent (6-1/2 wks) and worked harder than normal on exercise, but didn t lose a pound. Always before, I would lose 12 lbs. during that period with the same regimen. Is my thyroid the problem?
