Are There Any Drug Interactions Between Lisinopril And Hydroxyzine?

I take 5mg Lisinopril to help keep my BP in normal range, and my dr prescribed 10mg of Hydroxyzine to help with anxiety as needed. I have not taken the Hydroxzine yet because I read where it could cause BP to lower. Are there interactions between these?

Hi,

I ran a search on Lexicomp drug database, putting in hydroxyzine and lisinopril and there are no risks or contraindications listed in combining these 2 medications.

If you haven't taken hydroxyzine before, you can consider taking 1/2 the dose (i.e. 5 mg) to see how it affects you. Hydroxyzine is more likely to cause sedation and dry mouth than hypotension. It is an older class of antihistamine.
