Are There Any Negative Interactions Between Guanfacine And Metoprolol?
Looking to find if there is an interaction between Guanfacine, escitalopram and metoprolol. I am on second two for anxiety and AFib and took first one by mistake. Poison control seems to think we are okay but suggested we call ER who will not advise without visit. Can you offer some guidance?
Guanfacine (an alpha-2 adrenergic agonist) may have synergistic effects if taken along with a beta blocker like Metoprolol. As this combination may result in reduced heart beats, heart block, and a fall in blood pressure.
Your blood pressure needs to be closely monitored.
Hence, in view of the above you are advised to consult a doctor for proper assessment.
Hope this will help.
