Are There Any Side Effects Of Taking Flucloxacilline?
I have been taking flucloxacilline 500mg 4x a day for 5 days now and have been feeling bloathed, gas-like feeling in my chest area and some shortness of breath. The side effects mentioned in the leaflet does not mention any of these. Could these symptoms be a result of the flucloxacilline?
I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your drug related stomach issue.
Yes these are common side effects of the drug. Bloated stomach, nausea and indigestion have been found in good amount of patients who use this drug. Because of its high dosage these effects are common.
You can reduce these side effects by taking the proton pump inhibitors like pantoprazole 40 mg daily in morning empty stomach.
You can also reduce the side effects by avoiding oily, junk, ans spicy foods. These symptoms you feel are not much to be concerned and will not be there after you complete the antibiotic course.
Hope my answer will be helpful to you, visit us back if you have any future query.
Regards Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
