Are There Any Side Effects Of Taking Meloxicam And Naproxen Together?

I HAVE BEEN TAKING 15MG MELOXICAM ONCE A DAY PLUS TWO 500MG NAPROXEN TWICE A DAY FOR YEARS.MY DOCTER TOLD THE DRUGGEST TO PUT A NOTE IN MY NEW SCRIPT THAT SAID DONOT TAKE THESE TWO DRUGS TOGETHER. I CAN NOT REACH MY DOCTER TO EXPLAIN. I AM NOT SURE WHAT THIS MEANS.DO I NOT TAKE THEM AT THE SAME TIME,OR SHOULD I DISCONTINUE ONE OR THE OTHER. THE MELOXICAM SCRIPT WAS DUE FOR RENEWAL.DOCTER CUT THIS FROM A 90 DAY SUPPLY TO A 30 DAY SUPPLY. DON RUSSELL

Hello.Taking Naproxen with Meloxicam is contraindicated because there is high risk of ulcer or gastric bleeding.Also if you take continuously Meloxicam or Naproxen, it is necessary to prescribe a gastric protector-proton pump inhibitor ( omeprazole, lansoprazole, pantoprazole ....).I wish you good health.
