Are There Any Side Effects Of Taking PVOVIDAC For Diarrhea?

My wife is suffering from uncontrollable loose stool 2 to 3 times in the mornings only and no problem there after . On the other side , I am suffering from no motion or little semi soiled motion and has to take Issobgul 4 spoons , Dulcolux x 2 or Ducosate Sodium 400 gms daily to clear out almost every week . How is it that both of us have been prescribed PVOVIDAC tabs for a months along with other medicines by a Gastroenterologist ? Is this Ok for both of us ? Pl.help.
