Are There Any Side Effects Or Drug Interactions With TRU Niagen?

My husband has been taking TRU Niagen for about a month. He has a very bad rash on his shoulder, back of his arm, and now on his neck. He has diabetes and he has a very bad habit of scratching & Picking. I assumed it was from that but I took him to a very good Dermatologist, at Mass General Hospital, and he seemed perplexed by it. He gave him a prescription to apply for 10 days. Do you know if there are any known side effects or drug interactions to TRu Niagen ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your husband seem to be related to an allergic reaction to TRU Niagen. I suggest using Benadryl daily.

I also suggest applying Calamine lotion for local application. I recommend consulting your doctor about an alternative treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
