Are There Chances To Avoid Miscarriage Having No Fetal Pole?
Hello Doctor, My wife is 6 week pregnant but her ultrasound shows no fetal pole found . She is taking progesterone supplements, is she able to carry on pregnancy. How many chances are there to avoid miscarriage. My semen report is following: Normal: 55 % Abnormal : 45% Rapid Progression: 25% Slow progression: 25% non progressive motality: 10% immotile: 40%
hello, at 6 weeks pregnancy ultrasound should usually show the fetal pole. if it is not seen then ideally a repeat ulrasound may be performed after 2 weeks to recheck for the fetal pole to cover for delayed conception. if it still not appears then its a failed chemical pregnancy ( called blighted ovum) . then it would have to be aborted unless it aborts on its own. progesterone has been given to provide luteal support to the pregnancy to assist implantation and has no connection with the fetal pole.
also your sperm counts are satisfactory.
