Hi,
Thanks for asking about your medication and its side effects.
From the information you have provided it is clear that you are using more than the maximum limits of these drugs.
Glucored Forte contains 5 mg of glibenclamide and 500 mg of
metformin. You have written that you are taking 2 tablets three times in a day. Thus it means you are taking 30 mg of glibenclamide and 3000 mg ( 3 Gm ). If this is the case then I have to alarm you that both of these drugs you are using are being consumed at a higher dose than the recmmended maximum daily dose of these two drugs. the Glibenclamide should not exceed 20 mg in a day and metformin should never be more than 2450 mg in day. Onglyza is
saxagliptin and can be added to the medications if your D.M. is not well controlled controlled.
From the information you have given it is clear that inspite of usuing more than the maximum allowed medication limits your DM is not controlled.
I recommend you with these few recommendations.
1- Adopt healthy life style; take brisk walk minimally 20 minutes a day; reduce weight if you are over weight; quit smoking; increase consumption of fiber in your diet.
2- Get your urine checked for micro-albuminurea.
3- get you fats,
cholesterol and triglycerides levels checked along with
kidney test.
4- Decrease the dosage of these drugs and add a base line long acting insuline ( Gargaline) to your medications.
5- Get your
HbA1C checked every three months which will guide you if you need to increase / intensify your treatment.
6- You need t o get checked up by a DM expert as soon as possible.
Best of luck and hope this will be helpful for your understanding.
You can ask me if you still need to ask any questions.
