Are Weakness And Cough In An RA Patient Side Effects Of Taking Fluconazole?
My mom has esophogeal candida and has beem on fluconozole forn5 days she is also a severe RA patient, she is starting to have severe coughing no energy trouble breathing out of breath easily and very weak, anynsuggestions as to the fluconozole causing the issues or a complication from the candida since her immune system is alreafy compromised
Fluconazole is unlikely to cause severe coughing, and breathing difficulty I understand we should look for other causes.
One possibility is an infection of the chest, like pneumonia, which may cause sudden chest problems.
Besides the RA itself can harm the lung in many ways. So it's important that she be seen by her doctor urgently to find the cause and treat on time.
Especially the infection, which as you said is quite possibly as she is immunocompromised. So I don't think its the drug, she should be seen for other causes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
