Hi,
The cough could be due to the asthma. Honey can sometimes aggravate cough, so please stop giving it. Instead, you can give just plain lukewarm water. The child may need to be nebulized for relief of bronchospasm. Bronchospasm causes a bad cough with thick sputum which is difficult to break and the cough increases the spasm. Steroid inhalations should be given for faster and better relief along with bronchodilator aerosols. Sleeping in a propped up position or with a back rest helps a lot. Hope this helps.
