At What Age Does Growth Stops?

Hello there! I am currently a Junior in highschool and I was wondering when I'm supposed to stop growing. I am a 15 year old female and I'm 5'8" (and something). I've searched all over the internet for answers, but everyone has their own opinion, right? My father is 6'2"- 6'3" ish and my mother is 5'7" ish. My other question is how tall do you think I will be? I'm only asking this out of sheer curiousity...It is very noticable that I take more after my father, especially with the height factor, but I just want to be sure. Do you think I'll at least.. make it to 5'10"? Also, does not getting enough sleep stunt growth? I wan't to be a model when I'm older, so I can't have that happening :(. I haven't been sleeping very well and I think a little insomnia might be edging on....god forbid.

Thank you for your time!!

Hello dear,

Height of an individual is determined by Genetics, Environmental & Nutritional factors and Hormonal factors (most important the Growth Hormone secreted by pituitary gland in brain)
An individual stops growing in height after the fusion of the Epiphyses (growth plates) of the long bones, which occurs by the age of 15-19 yrs in females.

So, as you are 15 yrs old now, there is a good chance of achieving your dream height.
An X ray for bone age determination can be taken to look for the fusion of epiphyses.

Make sure that you are taking a healthy & balanced diet, exercise regularly & avoid stress.
Protein rich diet like soya, groundnut, pulses, etc should be incorporated in your diet plan.
Get good sleep. It helps in release of growth hormone & stimulates growth.

Wishing you Good Health.
Take care.
