Avid Drinker Suffering From Bleeding Even After Periods. Refuses To Quit Drinking. Cause For The Bleed?
my girlfriend drinks alcohol daily, drinks thru most of the night. Will drink beer when whiskey is not available.. She is 22 years old and bleeds even after her period. I have asked her to stop drinking . She has been to 2 different treatment facilities but refuses to stop drinking. What are the causes for her bleeding and what can I do other than not enable her? at a loss
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. The continuous bleeding even after the period may be due to the anemia, infection, etc. I advise to consult a gynecologist for diagnosis and treatment. She may need to have per vaginal ultrasound for diagnosis. I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms fluconazole, ofloxacin, ornidazole, and hematinics. If she want to stop drinking, she can consult a psychiatrist for deaddiction. Ask her to take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and protein rich foods. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
