Baby Observed Neonatal Jaundise And Given Phototheraphy. Breast Feeding. Feel Like Baby Wants More. How To Increase Milk?
we have blessed with baby boy on 11th May 2013.
on 13th May Pediatritian observed neonatal jaundise and given phototheraphy for 14th and 15th May.
Baby birth weight was 2.843 Kg on 11th May 2013
Baby Weight on 18th May 2013 was 2.605 Kg
Baby Weight on 24th May 2013 is 2.665 Kg
It is our assumption that mother feeding might not be sufficient to baby. This has comfirmed with 2 indications.
1) Baby is sucking more than 40 min. but mother not getting milk more than 20min in manual attempt.
2) Baby is very frequently giving feeding signs - most of the time every hourly basis.
Can anybody suggest a best solution to increase milk for baby thorugh mother feeding.
Neonatal jaundice can be cause by several causes including infections, blood incompartibility, poor hepatic development etc. However, it is good since the pediatrician saw the child and the child was put on management including phototherapy.
As for the weight, it is normal to have a loss of weight during the first days of life and subsequently, weight gain should be progressive.
Concerning the milk let down, the mother should eat abundantly and drink a lot of fluids. Also, she should not be stress physically or mentally and should have much time to rest. The child should be put on the breast constantly and should finish one breast before being put on to the other in order to have lipids that come at the end of the breastfeeding and which help in satiety.
