Back Felt Like Bumps, Discomfort, Difficulty Swallowing. What Could Be The Reason?

Hi there,

The past three days I have felt like there is fluff matted on the very back of my tongue. It's extremely uncomfortable and I feel like I can't swallow properly. I've checked and there's nothing there. I've also used my toothbrush to gently clean the area and no relief. Please help I feel like I'm going crazy. Aundrea.

Hi.Thanks for writing on HCM.
Back of your tongue is made up of lingual tonsil (which is naturally bumpy). Sometimes we feel it to be quite unusual/swollen because of throat infection(most commonly). This portion of the tongue is normally not visible. If you feel difficulty in swallowing or vague sensation not subsiding/increasing I suggest you to consult an ENT specialist and take his opinion.Hope this helps.
