Bed Wetting. Taking Prednisone For Asthma And Cough. Side Effects Of Medication?
Hi,
My 9 yr old son has been on prednisone for 6 days for potential asthma and a cough that has lasted about a month and a half. He's never wet the bed before, and he just woke up at 2:30am local time to say that his underwear and bed were wet (not a wet dream). Could the medication have caused this, and if so, how? Thanks.

No its not its side effect , rather you have to look for some other cause

prednisolone does not have these side effects.excessive cough sometimes can cause this or there may be some other reason.if he wets bed again thn avoid giving milk or anything liquid at night to ur child before going to bed and dont let him have coffee or tea after evening.

Relax,there is nothing to worry.This is not side effect of prednislone.
Since he is having cough and due to increased intra abdominal pressure sometimes there is contraction of bladder which can lead to leakage of urine.
Medicines cannot have such effect.
If it persist get him evaluated by pediatrician as some investigations will be required.
