Been On TTC. Imbalance Hormones. Traces Of Staph Aureus In Husband Sperm. Recommended Shots. Is It Necessary?

Hi,
We've been TTC for a year and about 5 months now. My OB-GYN has done some tests on me and discovered an imbalance with my hormones. He also went ahead to test my husband's sperm and discovered he has traces of staph aureus and recommended he takes shots for seven days.is this very necessary please.

Thank you,
Deborah.

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

The stap aureus should be treated. Any infection would affect the function and characteristics of the sperm and the capacity to conceive.

One medical study looked at the semen of 50 men and found that stap aureus was the most common bacteria seen particularly in men with lower than normal sperm count. They also found that this bacteria was associated with decreased movement of the sperm.

To increase your fertility chances it would be best if your husband receives the treatment recommended.

I hope this helps
