Being A Pot Smoker And Polio-affected Person, What Could Cause Swelling In Legs?

I am 49,have polio but can walk, left leg is shorter and smaller then right leg, I moved in Jan., a month later my left foot and leg have swollen up, I can not get my shoe on the left foot, there is no pain, I also am a smoker and have 4 ditterent breathing meds I take, I also smoke pot. whats do you think is going on with my leg?

Post-polio syndrome in someone under age 60 is incredibly rare. Unilateral leg swelling is actually a huge emergency and needs the ER immediately because it could be a dangerous blood clot. (or a smaller not so dangerous blood clot). there can be minor circulatory effects like varicose veins, or even just lying down with that leg the lowest position of the body and blood collecting into it. But ONE leg swelling is a reason to immediatley check for blood clots.
