Bitten, Deep Puncture, Painful, Inflammation, Warm Feeling, Nerve Damage. What Can Help Healing?
I was bit by a dog 6 weeks ago. I had a deep puncture from the bite.I have had a feeling of warmth from inflammation on a daily basis.,also pain. The bite is on the back of leg at thigh. Sitting seems to really aggravate the wound because of the location . I was wandering if this could be any nerve damage from this wound? Should I see a doctor again and when or just let a few more weeks past for healing?
Hi,
If you have taken Rabipur injection (for dog bite 6 wks ago) it is OK. Otherwise I am sorry for your ignorance regarding dog bite . Even if the dog is alive and does not show any symtoms of rabies and if you did not have Rabipur, immediately go and have one course Rabipur injection - 5 inj. over a period of 1 mth. + Inj. TT.
Regarding you, the Dog bite wound is in the back side of your thigh, is a deep bite, getting inflamed and painful. Any dog bite wound has to be cleaned as many times as possible and leave the wound open with antibiotic ointment application without dressing. Along with this you must take antibiotic oral/injection + anti inflammatory tabs.
Consult your dr and follow his advise
Best wishes
