Black Color On Tongue. Worried
I noticed two areas on my tongue , on the left and right sides, in the way back of the tongue that are almost black in color. It may be referred to as the foliate papillae by looking at a diagram of the tongue. I can t tell if they re sores, but they don t hurt. I don t even remember how I noticed them because if I stick out my tongue completely, they re not noticeable. I have to pull my cheek completely back to even see that part of my tongue. Each sore is on the side, but not completely under the tongue. I m worried because I don t think the tongue should have any dark colors on it, especially when it appears to be black.

dont panic at all.today modern science can treat almost
all diseases.i would advice you to consult a dentist and
also go for a biopsy test.avoid eating spicy food,smoking,
alcohol.

Thanks for sharing your concern.
The pigmented areas on your tongue could be developmental in nature.when did you notice them firstt?
According to the history, it appears it is geographic tongue.it is just developmental in origin.
I do not think, it requires any treatment,if you do not have any other problem than cosmetic.
sometimes fungal infection can also present themselves like that.Therefore it is best to get it examined clinically once and then evaluated.

these foliate papillae are not generally visible in humans but in some case they are prominent and beautifully visible.
As per my opinion papillae are not of black color unless you have habit of betel chewing.
To be on the safer side consult a dentist for thorough clinical examination of tongue.
Maintain oral hygiene and use tongue cleaner regularly.
Apply Trigel for soreness.

as long as they are not painful and are not bothering you, there is nothing wrong with you...
they can be just normal pigmentations on your tongue or it can be due to vitamin and iron deficiencies...
just keep a watch over them, if they are growing in size or not... if not, there is nothing to worry about...
you can seek dentists advice for your satisfaction... to me it seems to be fine...

Take plenty of fluids as well as fruits.
Vitamin becosules,folic acid supplements has to be administered.
Intake of spicy food has to be limited.

Can be a fungal infection too.
Visit to the Dentist get the chekup done, biopsy of the lesion can be helpful.
Maintain a good oral hygiene, clean the tongue with a tongue scraper or a soft bristle toothbrush.
Take multivitamin suplements and folic acid.
Take complete balanced diet, drink lots of water and keep yourself hydrated.
