Bladder Prolapse From Vaginal Births. Bulge Coming Out Of Vagina. Fibroid Causing Abnormal Bleeding. Could The Foul Odor Be Caused By The Prolapse?

HI there, I have a bladder prolapse from 2 vaginal births. It has gotten worse now, I can sometimes both see and feel the bulge coming out of my vagina. I have had a bad cough this week which I think has made it worse. Only thing is now there is also a foul smell on my pad the past few days. I wear a pad nearly all the time as I have a fibroid that causes abnormal bleeding. Could the foul odor be caused by the prolapse?

Sorry for your health troubles.
The foul odor is caused by vaginal infection. However, the bladder prolapse could be a risk factor that predisposes the vagina to be affected by abnormal proliferation of pathogenic microbes.
So to answer your question, NO the foul odor is not caused by the prolapse but rather caused by bacterial infection. The condition is termed vaginitis or bacterial vaginosis. It can be treated with flagyl or doxycycline after your doctor must have examined you and either confirm or rule out my suspicion.
