Bleeding After Broken Thumbnail. Prescribed Antibiotics. Nail Required To Be Removed?
Hello, my duaghter broke her foot thumb nail so badly but she did not have any pain until tonight when I stepped on her foot and it started bleeding. Emergency doctor told me to take to whole nail out and prescribed antibiotic for her. Se is totally OK now and doesn't have any pain and I am thinking to bandage it every night instead of doing a surgery to take the nail out but I am also afraid of infection, would please help me to choose the best way?

If there is complete detachment of toe-nail from nail bed then it is better to go for removal and new nail will erupted.
Otherwise you can do pressure bandage with antibiotic cream.
Continue antibiotic as advised by your doctor.
