Bleeding Form Gums Of One Side. Have Good Dental Hygiene. Cause?

I have a slight bleeding gum on my right side of my mouth, it s on the front right and I have only had it for one night and just noticed it. I am 21 years old, female and I had my wisdom teeth taken out in December, it healed very well, never had cavities, never had any gum bleeding before. I get my teeth cleaned every 4 months with no trouble. Why is it bleeding slightly now?

hi

bleeding from gums no mater how slight is not normal and should be checked.

as you noticed bleeding only at a particular spot that means you don t have any generalized

physical cause like low platelet count or vitamin deficiency.

the only possible reason bleeding at that area can be food impaction in that area or not flossing

properly.

floss between those teeth which you noticed bleeding from. clean the interdental area and the bleeding wont appear again.

take care.

Hello
Welcome to HCM
I would like to tell you that bleeding from gums occasionally can be due to hard vigorous brushing.
Tooth brush injury can also result in bleeding gums.
Secondly it can be due to vitamin C deficiency. To get rid of this problem you need to take citrous food in your dietary habits like amla, lemon, orange.
Thirdly it can be due to some hormonal changes.
Still you should consult your dentist & go for complete dental check-up.You might be having caries or abscess in your teeth.
You also try to maintain proper oral hygiene by regular brushing & interdental flossing.

Take Care

Hi,
Thank you for the query.
Bleeding gums may be because of any occlusal trauma or ulceration due to deficiency or infection in the gums leading to hyperplasia or any foreign body in the gums can lead to inflammation followed by bleeding . So there is nothing to get worried about. See your dentist to rule out the exact cause for the bleeding in the gums .
Hope this information helps you.

There are few home remedies for bleeding gums. These are –
1.Brush your teeth daily minimum two times a day. Once in the morning after breakfast and once at bed time after dinner. You should also floss your teeth regularly so that the food impaction is not there.
2.Do warm saline rinses two to three times a day. You can use 2 % hydrogen peroxide diluted with water in the ratio of 1:4 as the mouth wash.
3.You can use baking soda with water. Apply it on the gums and then brush your teeth. Baking soda helps in decreasing the number of microbes in the mouth.
4.Some times the problem of bleeding gums is because of vitamin-C deficiency. It is also called as scurvy. In this case consume citrus fruits. Lemon water without sugar is also good.
5.Because of its good healing properties one can use aloe on the gums and teeth.
6.One can add a drop of tea tree oil in the tooth paste to prevent the occurrence of gum disease.
