my wife is bleeding heavily during first period after pregnancy and she is also suffering from thick endometrium and it is as thick as 21mm. she has taken tranexamic and mefenamic acid tablets but of no use. suggest preferable medication to stop bleeding
Hi, Thanks for the query. You didn't mention how many months after delivery your wife got periods. During first 6 weeks postpartum lochial discharge can be seen. For more details : http://srsree.blogspot.in/2013/12/vaginal-discharge-in-postpartum-period.html Uterus will take around 6 weeks to come to its normal size. Endometrial thickness can also be more during this period. First period after delivery will be usually heavy only. Possibly the tablets she is taking can work. The thickened endometrium will shed. If your wife got periods 4 to 5 months after delivery with this much endometrial thickness, better to consult gynecologist once and go for endometrial biopsy. Take care.
