Blisters On Back Of Hand And Lower Arm. Advised For Moist Pads. Suggestion?

I have these places on the back of my hand and lower arm, they looke like a 5 petal flower with a center and they are also raised. The place is sore but not painfully so. After looking up what poison oak looks like I may have gotten into it pulling weeds..Hope I can find out what they are and how to treat it. My Dr. said just keep hot moist pads on them. they are blisters

Hi ,

thanks for writing to health care magic.

Blisters on back of hand and forearm after pulling weeds suggest allergic reaction.

Continue with moist pads.Do not try to rupture the blisters ,since they will form erosions and will take time to heal.

Start applying mild steroid antibiotic combination.Fucibet is commonly used for such allergic disorders. It is available on counters.

You can take antihistaminic like cetrizine at night.Hope this will solve your problem.Take care.

Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
One possibility is that you are having a skin reaction to something in the environment, which could be an allergy or a contact reaction. Some of the common irritants that cause this.
Another possibility would be eczema. This is a condition caused by dryness of the skin due to a deficiency in certain molecules that help the skin stay moist. The treatment for eczema involves avoiding excessively drying the skin and also regular application of a thick moisturizer to trap in the skin's natural protective oils. Additionally topical steroid creams are sometimes needed.
Hope this helps you.
Wishing you good health...
Regards.
