After one week I checked again and it was 105. I also have high cholesterol. (Reports are hereby attached) My Mother have diabetes. I do not smoke and do not take alcohol. I request you to kindly let me know am I have diabetes . What precaution/medicine should I take to escape cholesterol and diabetes .
Hi, Thanks for posting your query. Let me know your blood sugar level fasting and postprandial. Blood sugar fasting >126 mg% and postprandial >200 mg% suggests the diagnosis. Although you have positive family history of diabetes but your blood sugar must be in diabetic range, before labeling you have diabetes. You should consult with internal medicine specialist/ endocrinologist and should go for thorough check up. You should also go for complete lipid profile as treatment of dyslipidemia is decided by LDL not by cholesterol. You should remain in touch with your treating doctor and should go for repeat blood sugar regularly. Take care, Dr. Mayank Bhargava
