Bloodshot In Eyes After Swimming. Irritation From Chlorine?
My 6 yer old daughter went swimming yesterday at the public pool/ health club with school. When I picked her up from after care her eyes were bloodshot. When she woke up this morning her eyes were still bloodshot and she complained that they hurt. There was no discharge or any crusty eyes. Can she still be irrated from the chlorine?
Hi
Sometimes children develop allergic reaction to the water purifying agents in pool water and conjunctivitis is also a common cause. Consult an eye specialist first, an antibiotic eye drop, anti allergic and lubricated eye drops will help but to be started only after recommendation of a trained ophthalmologist.
Take care
