Blotches On Face After Being With A Person Who Is Exposed To Cats. Is This Possible?

My nephew and his parents claim he is allergic to cats. I bought a cat almost a year ago. My nephew recently got blotches on his face about 2 hours after being in my apartment about two weeks ago. This lasted about 24 hours. He hasn't been in my apartment since. Yesterday, his baby brother came in my apartment but barely touched the cat. The next day, my nephew who was NOT even in my apartment, got blotches once again. They claim that he slept with his baby brother who was in my apartment the night before. Is that even possible???? Do you think he can get this bad reaction, without even being in my apartment?

Hi,

If your nephew is allergic to cats, smelling the presence of a cat (even without being present himself) would cause allergic reaction.

In case of your nephew, the other baby could have play with the cat. There could be a hair or smell of cat in him or his clothes that could have precipitated such reaction.

Do not worry! It is not fault! He is allergic! You love cats! He can be happy playing at your home without the cat!:)

Thank you!
