Bluish/bruise Appearance In The Corners Of Eyes Running Below Lower Lid
I am recently on two blood pressure meds and have been for about three weeks now. I awoke this am and have discovered bluish/bruise appearance in the corners of my eyes and running about half-way below lower lid? Not sure what this is. I am coming down with a bug in my sinuses? Could you enlighten me?
Hello It seems from the history that you are having bluish appearance of the corner of the eyes extending below the lower eyelid. This is because of collection of blood in the layers of the skin of the eyelids called as ecchymosis. This is common in uncontrolled systemic diseases like hypertension or diabetes. This is usually a self limiting condition and it will resolve over 3-4 weeks. However control of the underlying disease will prevent the recurrence of the disease.
Thank you
