Brain Shutters, Dizziness, Anxiety Attacks. On Celexa. What Can Be Done?

hi I have been weening off of celexa. I am experiencing what I think are brain shutters... I got a massive dizzy attack and fell to the ground. I screamed cause it scared me so bad. I have had anxiety attacks and nothing even close to this has ever been an anxiety symptom. Had I been driving a car I would be dead.

What can I do? will this pass?

Welcome to HCM.What you are exhibiting is the SSRI withdrawal Syndrome. The dizziness, confusion, anxiety are all part of the syndrome. You can request your doctor to prescribe Fluoxetine for a short period of time at a low dose which has a longer half life and is excreted slowly from the body. This will help reduce the symptoms of withdrawal. The other possibility would be slower tapering of the drug. This will definitely pass over a period of time.
