Breast Cancer Survivor. Had Mastectomy. On Tamoxifen. Done Radiation Treatments. Increased Risk Of Other Cancers?

Hi, my name it Melanie and I am a 2 1/2 year breast cancer survivor. My cancer was a very early diagnosis and I treated it very aggressively with a double mastectomy and 25 radiation treatments. I've also may a complete life style and nutrition change. I've been on tamoxifen now for just over 2 years and I am feeling worse and worse every month. More irritable and completely exhausted. So much so that I feel that I can't even go back to work!! That's crazy. I feel strongly that I want to get off the drug as the cancer it's preventing is at its lowest risk and it is increasing my risk of other cancers

Dear Melanie,
Post radiation and chemotherapy for breast cancer does give you this feeling of Gen. weakness. Enough investigations must have already been done on you to rule out any bony or visceral metastasis.
Tamoxifen should not cause you any problem. You need reaasurance, energy rich foods and calcium Vit. D suppliments and slowly you will come out of your problems and start working as usual. But be under regular check up as per the advice of your doctor.
truly,
Dr. J. Ticku
