Breathing Problem After Hernia Repair And Tummy Tuck Surgery. US Showed Clot In Lung. On Heparin, Warafin. Guide

I had surgery in Aug. for a hernia repair and tummy tuck. I was to go home the following day- however, I was having some minor problems breathing and was given a ultra sound of my lungs and was found to have a clot in each lung. I was very scared and stayed in the hospital 8 days- started Heparin and Warafin (sp) right away. I feel fine- but am getting tested every 2 weeks for INR and Protime. I just want to know what is the best reading and do I need to be on this med. for life or just a few months. My doctors all say something different.
Thank you for your time.

You may not need to be on this medicine if this is the first time youve had clots and there is no comorbidity like heart disease however the treatment will continue for 6 months atleast.
The best reading of INR has to be around (1.5-2.5) and no need to do any other tests.
Also you need to repeat the ultrasound again after few months to see whether the clots have been dissolved
