hi doc i am a 51 year old white female 5'4 225lbs with high bp . currently taking toprol 50mg od...i have been climbing the stairs at work to get some exercise . i become quite out of breath and sweat profusely ...i just did 18 flights of stairs but i had to stop every other flight to c atch my breath ....my question is it safe for me to be climbing the stairs?
18 flights is very good effort – anybody may get these symptoms… However, this may also mean Heart failure / Coronary Artery Disease / Lung problem… See an Internist / get yourself examined / at times, basic investigation may be necessary...
