Broke Metacarpals On Hand. Due For Surgery. How Long Will Healing Take?

My daughter broke her 3rd and 4th metacarpals on her left hand and is due for surgery on Monday to put in screws and plates to correct the injury. She is a competitive cheerleader and a gymnast for 6 years. She is very upset and anxious to start training again and my question is how long after the surgery can she start tumbling again?
