Broke My Shoulder And Humerus, Artificial Shoulder, Soreness. Using Pain Relief. Suggestion?

I broke my shoulder and humerous(do not know how to spell that), have an artificial shoulder and rod going down my arm, went back to the surgeon this week and he told me that this is all the movement i will get in it, which is about 70 per cent, find it not easy to sleep as my arm wakes me up a lot it being sore, do not want to take a lot of pain relief which i take intermittently, can you suggest anything else, thanking you helen

Welcome at HCM.

I have read complete details of your question.It looks that there is sorenes in shoulder joint after injury & surgery.

Generally this problem is there after surgery or affection of shoulder due to post procedure stiffness or due to diseases in shoulder.At present soreness may be due to lack of proper physiotherapy.Although your details are not so perfect to reach a conclusion but this looks to be most probable reason for your problem.

At present you should consult to physical therapist who may help you in recovering from shoulder soreness.

A continued soreness may also be there due to low grade infection ,loosening of implant ,etc.Please ask about these from your doctor.

You may have a good analgesic at present for relief from this pain.
