Brown Discharge, Lower Back Pain. Faint Line In Pregnancy Test. Am I Pregnant Or Not?
Hi, I received a very very faint line on a pregnancy test and I trying to determine if I'm pregnancy or not. You have to look very closely to see it. I had a miscarriage in October 2012 and waited a few months per the doctor request. My cycle is not due until 1 1/2 weeks from now. I've spotted for 3 days mainly brown discharge and twice two spots of blood. I have lower back/left buttocks pain. No breast sensitivity. I'm trying to avoid artificial insemination if I do not get pregnant this time. What do you think. Thanks.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I suggest you to undergo blood test for beta-hCG and one TVS scan to rule out possible conception. Brown discharge may be associated with implantation bleeding or early sign of miscarriage.
Other reasons are vaginal or pelvic infection, old endometrial tissue with clots, hormonal imbalance etcetera.
Please consult with your gynecologist following above test reports. Maintain genital hygiene properly. Good luck.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. S Patra
