Brown Patches Around Mouth, Chin, Looking Like Brown Bruises, Small Spot On Chin, Not Fading. Treatment?
My daughter has brown splotches around her mouth and chin that appeared about 1 week ago.... It looks like her face is dirty.... They don t hurt or itch and are not raised dry or bumpy... Looks like a bruise would look but its brow* they do seem to be fading... But its so weird? She had a smalk spot pb her chin a few weeks before and took forever to fade away? Should I be concerned or could it just be a bruise?
Your daughter may be having tinea versicolor most probably. It is not bruise. Tinea versicolor is a superficial fungal infection caused by melassezia furfur. It is a contagious disease and spread by direct contact or fomites. Poor immunity, perspiration or soap might increase the disease. Immunocompromised condition should be ruled out by blood tests. The fungus reside in scalp. So, ketoconazole containing shampoo would be helpful in treating the disease.
Give her ketoconazole for 2 to 3 weeks. And apply ketoconazole cream twice a day for long time. Dettol liquid bath may be given. Improve hygiene and immunity. Give her healthy food. She may be benefitted.
I hope you got my answer.
Thanks.
