Spotting in early pregnancy can be seen due to many causes. As your spotting subsided after taking the progesterone pills, the possibility of ectopic pregnancy is less. The pain can be due to stretching of the ligaments due to increasing size of the uterus. You once go for ultrasound to rule out ectopic pregnancy and to confirm the intrauterine pregnancy. Meanwhile you continue the medicines given by your doctor. For more details you can ask me through: http://www.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-sree-gouri-sr/63429 Take care.
