Bruise With Lump On The Leg After Being Hit. How Can I Get Rid Of It?

Hi, I hit my lower leg quite hard and a large bruise appeared. After the bruise had gone I noticed there is a small hard lump where the bruise used to be. It is colourless and you can't see it much but I can feel it and it itches slightly sometimes (the way a bruise itches when its healing). It has been there for 3 weeks. What is it and how can I get rid of it?

Hello,
Your lump which has been in place for 3 weeks can be a result of a subcutaneous hematoma, which is bleeding under the skin. If it is deeper then it could be a muscle hematoma.
Whatever it is, it should reduce significantly with time.
A ultrasound scan of the region will give more insight if you are having pain and the lump persists for more than a month.
Please do not worry.
