Bruised, Hard, Warm, Sore Lump With Dent On Butt Due To Fall. Is This Hematoma?
Hi Dr. Just fell on my front porch steps due to ice two days ago. Fell directly on my butt! Now I have a weird line that is an obvious dent, accompanied by a lump the size of my hand. Very very bruised. It's hard and also warm to the touch. . Has been since the next morning afterwards. I'm guessing hematoma? The soreness today is much more bearable but still sore, of course. I'm just wondering if this needs to be checked out or can I just take ibuprofen for the soreness and pain. The internet provides me with just enough info to be afraid of infection!
HI. This is for sure a hematoma. Is it causing a problem with walking or sitting ? Do you have a fever? If yes, please visit a doctor to confirm or rule out infection. He / She will have a clinical evaluation and may order for Haemogram to see White Cell count. Many times a simple aspiration helps to resolve the condition and confirm the diagnosis and helps in further proper treatment
