Bruises On Rib, Not Tender, Discomfort When Breathing Deep. No Injury

About 4 months ago, I started noticing some strange bruises on my left rib. It hasn t gone away and isn t tender when it is touched but now I am starting to feel discomfort in that area at times when I breathe deep. I have some similar bruising in and around the same side on my back. I was not struck in the ribs or in the back at any time and the bruises remain constant and unchanging.

You did not mentioned your age,any medications (especially blood thinners) you are on and also any associated illnesses if you have.
All these questions need to be clarified along with many other points to reach to a conclusion.
I would suggest to you to see your GP as soon as possible so that he could run some blood tests if he think so and then proceed further.
I am afraid that I cannot comment any further with such a short history and description.
