Hi. I have had a bump (slightly smaller than the diameter of a dime) on my left eyebrow for almost a year now. I ve been to a doctor and she gave me a shot of cortisone which totally seemed to help at least for a week, and it never went away 100%. I now have this horrible habit of picking at it. I feel crunchy stuff inside the bump and am able to get white stuff out but it hurts to do that. Also whatever is in there feels sharp. (i know sounds strange but thats what it feels like) I use hot compresses all the time. And when I don t touch it for awhile. The skin on the bump will heal (my skin is chapped and red from me constantly touching that spot) but the bump stays just as large and maybe even a bit larger. Like it starts to feel bigger and has some pressure feeling from it. So I then mess with it and that pressure feeling goes away.. My eyebrow hairs are gone because I m always rubbing that spot. I understand I need to stop touching it.. But I feel like whatever is in their will just come out. It s ugly and embarrassing. I m now too embarrassed to go to the doctors again mostly because it s obvious I keep messing with it. Any thoughts as to what it is? And what the treatment would entail? Thank you.
Dear Sir
The nagging sensation is mostly psychological but i would advise you to consult a surgeon who can excise it. as the repeated scratching and crusting might lead to more problems at a later date.
