Bumps Above Neck, Sticky Liquid Oozing While Pricking. Any Ideas?
I have small bumps just above my neck near my hairline. They don't itch or hurt but when I pick the scab a clear type of liquid will come out that's lightly sticky. I'm not sure what color they are normally but I've looked after picking and they are red. Haven't seen a doctor, put any cream on or taken any medicine. I would like to know what these bumps are.
Hi ! Good morning. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
From the history, the nearest I could guess is some kind of acne which might ooze blood while you pick them and might also get infected giving rise to pain and discomfort of increasing intensity. Therefore, I would suggest you not to pick these. If they are acne, they will disappear gradually in due course once the hormonal imbalance due to any reason settles down. Otherwise you may have to seek the opinion of a dermatologist, who can suggest you the treatment only after physically examining the problem in person. In the meanwhile, you can apply some anti septic cream like Neosporin skin ointment over it.
Thanks for choosing health care magic for your health query. With best wishes and wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
