Burning And Itching In The Vagina. On Oralcon Contraceptive. Can I Change The Birth Control?

Hi, i have been on oralcon contraceptive for one year, however last year i had a burning, itching around the outside of my vaginal, since then everymonth before i get my period i feel that burning and itching. i have now stop the oralcon and noticed i am discharging excessively. may i ask what could be the cause? also can i switch to another contraceptive?

Due to hormonal changes associated with menstruation, some women may experience vaginal infections with their periods.
The most common infection seen is yeast infections or candida infections.

You may want to consider visiting your doctor for an evaluation to confirm that this is the cause, this would require a swab.
Yeast infections are treated with vaginal creams or ovules which can be purchased over the counter or with oral medication such as diflucan.
Diflucan would require a prescription.
