Burning Pain In Right Shoulder Blade, Feeling Better After Lying Down. Prescribed Muscle Relaxers
Hi i am 50 years old and for the last week I have had a burning stinging pain in my right shoulder blade a PA was thinking it was shingles but i don't have a rash. the strange thing is I feel better when I am lying down, I sleep soundly. I did start a new job that I am on my feet a lot and I am reaching up a lot. the pain now 1 1/2 weeks long is dull at times sharp at times or even feels like sharp jabs, My PA sent me home with muscle relaxers that didnt help just helped me sleep even better. Now they want to do blood work and take ex rays

I would come up with these possibilities , these includes . 1 Cervical spondilitis as you mentioned that pain lessens when lie down , this is an indication of cervical pain. Diagnosis can be confirmed by X RAY of neck . 2 Osteoarthritis of shoulder joint . Diagnosis can be confirmed by X ray of shoulder joint . Blood examination for C B C & e s r ( if very high ,indicates inflammation). 3 Osteoporosis , diagnosis can be confirmed by examination of calcium and phosphorus level .
