Burning Sensation In Leg, Swelling In Legs On Strain Post Open Heart Surgery For ASD, Has Normal Blood Sugar. What Is The Cause?
Hi Sir My mom (54 yrs) has undergone a Open heart surgery on jan 16 2009 for ASD Pblm. A 20 mm hole was closed with a mess. now for past one month she is suffering from burning sensation in left feet , pain in left leg and bulging of both legs when travel or strained. Is this because of some pblm in heart or any nerve problems? we have checked blood sugar which also in range..
Hi there,
Thank you for writing in.
I am a cardiologist and read your mail with diligence.
I can not think that ASD closure by open heart surgery 3 years ago can be responsible for any symptoms you have narrated. As you have rightly pointed out it could be nerve problem peripheral neuropathy. I would urge you to see your general physician doctor.
With Best Wishes.
