Burning Sensation While Passing Urine, Reports Show Pus Cells Of 2-4/HPF And Epithelial Cells 1-2/HPF. Matter Of Concern?
Hi I am a male aged 30 from India. Around two months ago my father underwent an operation ..during which I also stayed @ hospital with him..for around 10 days...after 3 to 4 days @hospital I started getting burning sensation while urination ...I visited a doctor...he asked me to do a urine test & CBP..i got the tests done...CBP is completely normal...but urine analysis shows Puss cells: 2-4/HPF Epithelial cells: 1-2/HPF. everything else is normal. I am yet to start antibiotics for the same.. what does this mean...is there anything serious...i am confused & freightened..plz help

Urine pus cells value will be increased in case of infections and epithelial cells are unwanted cell which are shed from the urethra.
Your pus cells and epithelial cells are quite normal which doesnot show any indication of infection.
Long stay in hospital may can cause this kind of symptoms. This is called as hospital acquired infection.
Burning sensation while urination is mostly due to urinary tract infection commonly called as UTI.
Even though your Urine analysis value are normal you should start antibiotics your physician has prescribed.
It is nothing serious, almost everyone would have got one or two episodes of UTI.
So dont worry.
