Burning Sensation While Urinating, Frequent Urge For Urination, Blood In Urine. Prescribe Counter Medication?

Hello Doctor, I am having burning sensation while urinating, i feel the urge to go very frequently and feel as if my bladder is very full and have lessened control on my urination but when i go it is only a few drops that come out along with burning feeling, there was blood in my urine yesterday (the urine was dark yellow but the last few drops were blood red colored). Can you prescribe some over the counter mediacation before i meet a urologist.

Welcome to HCM!

I have gone through your question from which it looks like you have urinary tract infection. From my clinical experience I can say that tab. norfloxacin in a dose of 400mg twice a day gives good response. Alongwith that you may require paracetamol as one may develop high fever in this infection.

It is a common and completely treatable illness, patients may have blood in urine in this infection, so please do not worry.

However it will be my advice that you shoud go for a urine examination also to see the intensity of infection and causative pathogen.

Hope the answer gives you relief.
Please feel free to ask more questions.
